Geoff and Naomi opened the Centre in 1988. Geoff has had a lifelong interest in Birds of Prey and this over the years has shone through in his displays and the way the centre has developed. Behind the scenes Naomi has ensured the paperwork and accounts have always been kept in good order. While both retired, both can be found at the centre most days continuing the good work they have done.
Geoff and Naomi’s eldest son, Mark, has many years of experience working with Birds of Prey. As a child growing up around them and then weekends and school holidays spent watching Geoff and the team flying the birds. After university, working/volunteering in related occupations and travelling widely in part to observe raptors in the wild before returning to work full-time at the centre.
Having previously met Geoff and his birds at a local event Chris arranged his school work experience for the May of 1999. Since then, Chris studied animal care at college before working at a local wildlife rescue centre. In 2001 we could offer him a full-time position and ever since Chris does a great job of flying and presenting the birds in his friendly, enthusiastic manner.
Amy joined us full-time in 2021 after volunteering at the centre for a year. She does a great job educating and entertaining visitors in our daily public displays and one to one experiences. Best known for the big group of Black Kites she flies daily. Amy also manages the newsletter, subscribe here.
Kerry started working at Cotswold Falconry in 2024 after 8 years of previous experience working with pelicans, cranes and whistling ducks. She has a superior understanding of bird training and has brought years of passion and experience here, much of which is already being implemented with our own birds. You are most likely to meet Kerry in our one to one experiences.
With the centre undergoing major development and an expanding collection of birds, it became clear a new full-time member of staff would be required. As the Sunday girl for 6 years, Helena was an obvious choice as her passion and knowledge for the birds led to her seamless transition into full-time work. Her dedication and sense of humour shine through in each of her demonstrations.
After completing her college course studying animal care, including a work placement here, Chloe has since looked after our visitor entrance / gift shop. She is also close at hand to help with various daily husbandry requirements of the birds and when time allows out in the gardens.
Martin has been a long-term friend of the centre and in July 2017 started working with us here full-time. He is normally the first person to welcome you in and is also involved in the Friends memberships, adoptions and experience bookings, but here he is busy painting the wire on the Palm Nut Vultures' aviary.
Geoff and Naomi’s younger son Paul can usually be found hiding in the office doing the accounts, paperwork, PAYE, processing Friends/Adoption applications and playing games on his phone. We had to go all the way back to 1989 to find a photo of Paul flying a bird. Note the laid back style.
